The artists took a child-centred approach to develop a performance/workshop that focuses on connection, learning new skills and creating memories together. They were able to test out the workshop aspect during MAD Festival 2026. Afterwards, it was time for the creative phase, with residency weeks at Het Gravenhof in Hoboken and De Klap in Deurne. At the latter venue, they worked towards their first public try-out.
Throughout the year, we were given a great deal of freedom to work on our project. Because there is so much time, you feel less pressure, which helps with the creative process. The various content-focused sessions we attended really helped us.

Thanks to the players of the National Lottery, newly qualified circus professionals were able to undertake a paid internship programme focusing on artistic, physical and business coaching. Through the START-UP LABO, the National Lottery and Ell Circo D’ell Fuego have been working together in recent years to professionalise the Belgian circus scene and further establish its position, both nationally and internationally.
