Why are we hosting a preview?
Preview performances are an important tool for artists working on a show or act. They receive immediate feedback from the audience – laughter, applause, a silence – which helps them to continue refining their creative process. At the same time, as a member of the audience, you get the chance to attend a show-in-the-making for free. And a unique insight into how such a show comes to life.
About Homúnculo
Sometimes it feels as though we are alone on the world stage. What happens when the last two beings on earth find themselves in the same space? Can they connect and create something meaningful together in a world where isolation is the norm? With Homúnculo, Crias invites the audience to reflect on the importance of connection. Two bodies explore the space between them through hand balancing, dance, and masks.
About Crias
Crias is an international duo made up of Rafael Gonzalez & George Swattridge. They met at circus school, where they played and developed new ideas together. Although each followed their own path, their artistic connection remained. George, as a performance artist, has since built a strong background in contemporary dance and circus. Rafael, as a physical performer, specialised in hand balancing and acrobatics and is currently studying at CODARTS – University of the Arts Rotterdam
