In August, the European Straps Convention will come to our training space in Antwerp. Expect a three-day event for international aerial straps acrobats.
With open training sessions, workshops, discussions, games and exchange in a place where collaboration comes first. The focus is on technical development, creativity and a chance to connect with the European straps community.
On the programme
The programme consists of three open training sessions (jams), two workshops, and space for discussion, games and exchange.
The workshops are led by two guest teachers.
Maxime Blériot will focus on technical precision, mechanics and straps methodology.
Amelia Thornton focuses on creativity, sequencing and waist straps.
The workshops and jam sessions are designed to encourage exchange, experimentation and shared learning between participants.

About the guest teachers
Maxime Blériot
Maxime Blériot graduated from the École Nationale de Cirque in Montreal in 2020. He now teaches straps acrobatics, hand-to-hand and acrobatics in Barcelona. In his teaching he emphasises technical precision and the step-by-step development of skills through detailed movement analysis.
Amelia Thornton
Amelia Thornton is a straps acrobat and researcher whose work focuses on creativity, movement research and exploring new possibilities within straps acrobatics — including through experimentation with waist straps.

When?

For whom?
🤸♀️For aerial straps acrobats and circus performers with prior experience using straps. It is important that you feel comfortable training independently in a shared training space. The event will be conducted in English.
What should you bring?
🎒Please bring your own workout clothes, and personal equipment, or accessories that you like to use.
