Docked in the circus haven: Alicia Rechac

This residency came about as part of Binded Bodies, an exchange project for Basque and Flemish circus organizations with the support of the Flemish and Basque governments.

During her residency, Alicia is working with scenic coach Atic H. Deba on Last Triggers, a creation in which she explores the emotional and physical reactions we cannot control after a trigger.

The starting point of this creation was an image: an abstract field shaped by movable cane flowers and costumes that merge into the scenery. A flexible structure, sensitive to air and movement. The wild, impulsive, animalistic goes into confrontation with the established order and a sense of control.

During her residency week, Alicia plans an investigative exploration that focuses on movement, physical theater and the possibilities of aerial acrobatics within the project.
