Fly or fall
You get to know someone better by spending an hour playing together than by talking for a long time. Because playing gets you moving—both physically and mentally. Fly or Fall is a workshop that alternates between action and reflection. Right from the start, you’ll have fun with playful activities.
You’ll discover the power of play in circus education, with the goal of learning through play, getting started in an accessible way, and letting go by acting silly. After the introduction, you’ll be challenged to dive right in—or perhaps keep both feet firmly on the ground. Do you dare to step out of your comfort zone? Everyone can participate, regardless of age, physical ability, or language.
Focus of this workshop
Group formation and experiencing what circus has to offer—without diving too deep in the theoretical background.
Perfect for
School classes, team-building groups, and groups interested in what can be achieved through circus.
TaRMaK. Flying with Hope
Through TaRMaK, Ell Circo D’ell Fuego aims to empower children and young people who have experienced domestic violence. We do this using a method built around four core components.
- The Power of Circus
- Experiential learning
- Trauma-informed practice
- The Science of Hope
The workshop combines the theoretical framework surrounding these building blocks with practical activities we’ve developed as part of the program. Expect a mix of movement, play, and learning.
Focus of this workshop
Discover what circus has to offer as a medium—we alternate between hands-on experiences and in-depth explanations of the core components of TaRMaK.
Perfect for
Organizations that work with this target group, conferences and symposia on this topic or one of its key components. Educators and students who work with this target group or these topics as part of their academic program.
Trauma-informed practice
Through our TaRMaK circus program, we strive to empower children and young people who have experienced domestic violence. To do so safely, we use a trauma-informed approach. This means we always keep in mind that everyone around us may have gone through traumatic experiences that can disrupt their stress response.
We’re shifting our focus from the question “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?” Because when you approach participants in a calm, trustworthy, and respectful manner, they’ll feel safe with you. You’ll learn to understand what trauma means and how it disrupts stress responses. Then you’ll discover how to address these issues in a supportive way.
Focus of this workshop
We’ll take a closer look at the theory behind trauma-informed practice and alternate between theoretical concepts and practical examples from our TaRMaK programs.
Perfect for
Anyone who works with people—whether they are children, teenagers, or adults.
