About our Specialization Class German Wheel

The German Wheel Specialization Class – also known as Rhönrad – is ideal for those who want to turn everything upside down for a change. This class is unique in Flanders. In no other circus school will you be able to practice on this apparatus for 2h weekly.

It is the specialty of our trainer Pandel who has been working with this apparatus for years and also made several shows with it.

What do I bring with me to class?

Loose, athletic attire with pants without zippers or buttons and gymnastics shoes (flexible sole). Watch out! You will be sweating during class. So be sure to bring a water bottle!

You don’t need your own wheel, there are plenty of them available in class.

Want to take a trial class?

If there is still space in your class of choice at the start of the circus year you can also take a free trial class at that time. All you have to do is let us know you will be joining us by sending an email to info@ecdf.be.

At Ell Circo D’ell Fuego, you receive a 30% discount on all classes if you are entitled to the status of Verhoogde Tegemoetkoming. If you are in possession of the appropriate documents you can check the “VT status” option in our enrollment module. The discount will be settled in the payment message at the end of your registration. Please contact your health insurance fund to review the requirements for Verhoogde Tegemoetkoming status and apply for it.

You can also combine this discount with other discounts from the City of Antwerp (A-kaart with the right to kansentarief) and the health insurance fund (everyone). Finally, Ell Circo D’ell Fuego is recognized as a youth work initiative. As a result, all students under 14 will automatically receive a tax certificate for child care that you can charge to your tax return.

The trainers

Mieke Gielen

For someone who is regularly catapulted into the air during Acro-porté sessions, Mieke is wonderfully down-to-earth. As an ECDF instructor, she co-leads the pedagogical coordination of the circus school and teaches all ages and levels.

Therese Johansen

Therese is world famous in Schilde where she takes care of the Multi-circus and Unicycle classes. But you can also spot her in SPRK, somewhere near the aerial rig, for the specialization classes on Aerial acrobatics.

Thomas Guillaume

Ready? Hep! Thomas is regularly seen flying in our training hall. On the trapeze, that is. But not without checking that the equipment used meets all safety requirements. After all, as our rigger, Thomas is a member of our Safe team. And together with Wenke, he ensures that the administration surrounding our enrollments runs smoothly. He is also a trainer in the Flying trapeze & Acro-circus classes.

Jente Besters

When Jente (aka Marcel, aka JNT, aka Mr. SAFE) steps into his Cyr Wheel, he already tends to spin on and on. Well, we don't mind. In addition to being a trainer in the Cyr Wheel and Acro-circus classes, he is also Ell Circo D'ell Fuego's prevention advisor: he researches where the risks are within our operorganization and at our locations and, together with the SAFE team, devises inventive actions to avoid them.

Lotte Vanneuville

You can see Lotte (aka Louise) hanging from the Aerial straps in our training room before. And there she hangs well. She also takes preschoolers exploring the wonderful world of circus during Circomotorics classes.

petit jean

Jan (aka petit jean) is a top trainer with angelic patience. For years, he has been getting the best out of mini acrobats who are amazed at what they have in them every lesson. You'll meet him on Wednesday afternoons in our training room at SPRK for Circomotorics and Acro-circus classes.

Florence Noirhomme

To spot Florence (aka Flo), it's best to look up. After all, she specializes in Aerial Acro, specifically cloth and pole. As a trainer, you will see her appear in the Air Acro Specialization class, Acro-bath Air and Acro-circus. If she is holding a camera, smile at her. Regularly she takes wonderful pictures of our activities.

Hanne Pandelaers

Hanne (aka Pandel) has been circling around in our circus classes for years. Literally, because the German wheel is totally her thing. Since last year she has been a trainer in her own series of classes in this spinning discipline. Furthermore, you can see her regularly flying in the Flying trapeze classes. And she is a trainer in the classes Acro-circus, Parent-Child and Circomotorics.

Ben De Vroey

Ben (aka Benziplof Jambon, Benzio Phum Phum, Bengel, Boostra, Benny Popular or simply Spenzi) specializes in bascule, ground acrobatics and escape techniques. And he can explain it well too. As a result, he is a trainer in many circus classes: Acro-Circus After School, Parent-Child, Acro-bad Techniques, Acro-bad Ground & Jump. Together with Arno he provides cozy expertise and expert sociability during our free training in SPRK.
