Flying with hope

TaRMak is a circus program for children and teens in vulnerable home situations.

The aim is for them to have positive experiences together, experience culture and have fun. At the same time, they subtly work on strengthening competencies.

In the circus, no one can do everything, but everyone can do something.

During a camp or series of lessons, TaRMaK participants learn to build hope. They discover new tools for dealing with emotions and difficult situations. The focus is on cooperation and treating each other with respect, but also on relaxation and fun.

During TaRMak, around ten children get to try their hand at circus skills. They are given the space they need to create something together in a non-competitive environment.

We are already planning the following TaRMaK activities for the coming months:

TaRMaK. Flying with hope

With TaRMaK, we developed a sustainable methodology based on the principles of circus, experiential learning, trauma-sensitive work and the science around “Hope. In the publication TaRMaK. Flying with hope we turn the methodology completely inside out. You can download the publication digitally or request a printed copy at info@ecdf.be.

TaRMaK. Flying with hope

You can always find new roads you can go through. Just as in your brain there are different pathways. You can choose any road you like. And when it’s hard, you give it some more thought and try all kinds of things. After that, you know what you like best and you take it from there.
